This is turning into a Christmas blog - Last evening we went to St. Lucia (and no I don't mean the island in the eastern Caribbean Sea ... I wish! ). We went to the Swedish church for a tradiotnal Lucia celebration. It is a celebrations of light, since December is very dark month in Sweden. It is one of the few saint days observed in Scandinavia. There is a procession where one girl dresses up as Lucia wearing a white gown and a crown of candles (!), while others in the procession hold only a single candle each. There was singing, music, a speech by the ambassador of Sweden and mingle with glogg wine and lussekatter. Super nice.
