Vouliagmeni

Vouliagmeni ser annorlunda ut varje dag, beroende på dag, tid, väder och årstid. Du kan inte se på bilderna, men bergen runt Aten är snötäckt!! Fint :)

Vouliagmeni looks different every day, depending on the day, time, weather and season. You can't see in the photos but in the distance, the mountains around Athens are snow covered.

Candles

Det är kallt i Aten, så jag tänder massor av mysljus hemma. Jag älskar min Buddha staty också.

It is cold in Athens, so I lit lots of candles. I love the my Buddha  statue too.

Think East

Busy dag idag, massor av jobb, vilket gjorde att dagen flyger iväg- Jag beställde Noodle Bar till lunch. Kyckling och stekta nudlar. Mums! På grund av krisen fick man 20% rabatt och en gratis sallad. Vad gulligt.

Busy day today, lots of things to do in the office. It is alread 18,30 and the day is flying away. I ordered Noodle bar for lunch. Xhicken and fried noodles . Delicious. Because of the crisis you get 20 % off and a free salad. How nice!

Versace Finale

Jag hade en urkul sist när jag och några vänner shoppade på Versace för H & M kollektionen . Nu är det dags för vårkollektionen om mindre än en vecka, den 18 januari. MEN jag har inte sett någon annons för det i Grekland. Någon som vet? Kommer den hit? Eller online kanske?  Hittade bilder på fina klänningar, nattkläder, strandkläder, väskor, skor och accessoarer i glada, godis färger.

I had a great time at the last Versace for H&M collection release. Now the spring collection is coming up in less than a week, it hits stores on January 18. I haven't seen any ads for it in Greece yet. Anyone knows? Will it come to Athens? Or online? The line includes dresses, sleepwear, beach wear, bags, shoes and accessories in sweet candy colours.

Denna vecka blev det korta, röda naglar. Nice för kontoret. Denna färg heter «Apéritif» av Essie. Super röd och riktigt fin. Me likey:)

Nypon-soppa

Till frukost hade jag nypon-soppa. Snabbt och super gott!

Yummy

For breakfast I had nypon-soppa. It is this cold, sweet soup which is very popular in Sweden. It is made of the red fruit on rose bushes. It's light and perfect on the go.

Night circus

Jag ville verkligen gilla boken om Istanbul, den började bra - väldigt medryckande, engagerande och välskriven... men allt eftersom man läser blir den bara mer och mer förvirrande, fler personer, fler komplexa berättelser ... Jag ville liksom bara säga till författaren "Stop stick to the first story".... Nej denna bok orkar jag inte med. Så jag lägger det åt sidan för att läsa den här boken i stället ...

I really wanted to like the book about Istanbul, the first chapters started out very catchy, engaging & well written.. and as the book unfolds it just gets more and more confusing, more characters, more complex different stories... I wanted to tell the writer "Stop! just stick to the first story"... Nope- I give up. I am putting it aside to read another book instead... The Night circus!

Brrr

Så väderprognoserna var rätt ....! Det är super kallt. Det är fuktigt, vilket gör att det blir riktigt kyligt och omysigt.
 

So the weather predictions were right....! It is super cold. It is also humid, which makes its chilly. The last days were rainy and grey.

Perfekt att dricka lite varm choklad. Detta märke är bra, smakar verkligen mycket kakao och inte alls för söt.

The weather is perfect for making nice hot chocolate. I like this brand, which I buy from AB, it is rich in cacao and low in sugar. Very chocolatey but not too sweet !

Perfect chocolate cake

Jag gjorde min perfekta chokladkaka nyligen. Hemligheten är att hälla i ett shot espresso! Det passar väldigt bra ihop med kakao. Jag gjorde även en kaffe / choklad glasyr med kokosflingor. Det är helt enkelt gudomligt! Njut av små bitar och en kopp kaffe.

I made my perfect chocolate cake two days ago. The secret is to add one shot of espresso! It really blends in well with the cacao. I also made an coffee/chocolate icing with flakes of coconut. It is simply divine! Enjoy small bites with a cup of coffee.

Mini-sales

Rean startar officiellt den 16: e Janaury. Men några butiker som Zara och Massimo Dutti har redan börjat med mini-sales. Massor av saker var på 30% rabatt. Jag gillar denna söta klänning, ska dit i morgon och se om den finns. Idag är alla affärer stängda :( 

I was told that the sales officially start at the 16th of Janaury. But some shops like Zara and Massimo Dutti kicked off the sales early with a one week promotion. Lots of things were on 30% off. I have my eyes set on this dress.

Den här klänningen bars av Kate Middleton på en välgörenhetsgala i december. I Storbritannien blev klänningen slutsåld direkt, men i Grekland finns den fortfarande.

This dress was worn by Kate Middleton at a charity event in December. In the UK the dress sold out instantly but in Greece it is still available. I want it !

Happy Epiphany day

Idag är det Epiphany-day. Grekerna fira detta mer än vi gör - Jag kan inte komma på något speciellt vi gör idag (trettondagsafton) i Sverige? Grekerna samlas vid hamnen, en präst kastar ett kors i vattnet och barnen hoppar i för att fånga den. Sen brukar man gå ut och äta med familjen på någon taverna.

Today is a Epiphany day . Greeks celebrate this holiday more then we do in Sweden - I can't think of anything special we do today in Sweden ? Greeks however gather by the port and then a priest throws a cross in the water and kids jump in to catch it. Then usually you go out to eat with your family in some taverna. Also little children ring on your door to sing the Epiphany carols. 

Getting colder?

Här är väder prognosen för helgen. 0 grader på söndag?! Jag tycker att de alltid överdriver och säger att det kommer bli riktigt kallt och sen blir det alltid plus 17 grader iallafall, så jag är inte så orolig :)

Here is the forecast for the weather for the weekend. 0 degrees on Sunday?! 

I find that they aaaalways exaggerate and say it is gonna be really cold and they it aaaalways turn out to be 17 degrees anyways, so i am not worried... although I haven't gotten a chance to wear my cozy fur this year.

La Tazza

Jag åt en fullkorn smörgås med kalkon och en fantastisk fruktsallad till lunch på La Tazza (Μεταξά 6, Γλυφάδα Τηλ. 2108.981.611). Det är en Espresso Bar mitt i centrala Glyfada. Inte bara är allt super fräscht (salladerna & smörgåsarna görs dagligen eller a la minute om du ber), personalen är alltid glada och rara, dessutom har de bra priserna.

I got a fabulous fruit salad and a whole grain turkey sandwich for lunch from La Tazza (Μεταξά 6, Γλυφάδα Τηλ. 210 8981611). It is an espresso bar right in the centre of Glyfada. Not only is everything super fresh and made daily or a la minute if you ask, the staff are very smiley and friendly too, plus the prices are good. 

Nyxi-nyxi

Jag var i centrumet av Glyfada och ville få mina naglar gjorda. Jag letade efter Fairy Nails men de verkar har flyttat, stängt eller sorligt nog som många affärer gått i konkurs. Jag hamnade tillslut på Nyxi Nyxi (I. Metaxa 23, Tel: 210 8.944.774)  Det var ganska bra, hon målade verkligen noga och fint men det tog sin lilla tid - 1 timme för att göra en full manikyr. Jag kan inte sitta still....

I was in down town Glyfada and wanted to get my nails done. I looked for Fairy Nails but they seem have  moved or closed (or sadly gone out of business?) I ended up at Nyxi Nyxi (I.Metaxa 23, Tel: 210 8944774). It was pretty good, she painted them very nice and carefully, but it took for every - 1 hour to do a full manicure. I can't sit still. 

Candles

Även om dagarna i Aten är soliga och varma, blir nätterna ofta kalla och kyliga. Så vi tänder vårt fireplace och levande ljus - inte bara det göra huset super varmt men också väldigt mysigt!

Although the days are sunny and warm here in Glyfada, the nights get cold and chilly. So we light the fire place & candles - not only does it make the house super warm but also very cozy.

At the gym

Jag bestämde mig för att gå till gymmet igår. Jag gick/joggade 7 km men känner klart seg att gymma igen efter jul och nyår semesteren...

I decided to go to the gym yesterday. I did 7 km but omg I feel so out of it after the nice Christmas and New years holidays...

Vouliagmeni

Vi tog en kvällspromenad i vackra Vouliagmeni igår kväll. Solen gick ner redan klockan 17,30 Jag vill att det ska vara juni och juli, då det fortfarande är ljust till 21,00 ....mycket mysigare...

We took an evening walk in Vouliagmeni last night. the sun set already 17.30. I can't wait for June &  July when it is still light at 21.00. Much nicer.

I'm cooking

Jag älskar att gå på restaurang och att beställa hem mat, men ibland kan jag också verkligen verkligen vilja laga mat. De sista dagarna var jag på super humör att stå i köket. Jag bestämde mig för att prova helt nya recept, vilket resulterade i en indisk kyckling curry gryta, en vit chokladmousse med jordgubbar, min jul sallad, tortellini med gorgonzolasås. Min mest framgångsrika rätt var blåbärscheesecaken. Here we go:

I love going to restaurants and ordering food, but sometimes I also really really love to cook. The last days I was super in the mood for being in the kitchen. I decided to try all new recipes, which resulted in a indian chicken rice and curry dish, a white chocolate mousse with strawberries, my Christmas salad, tortellini with gorgonzola sauce. My most sucessfull dish was the blue berry cheese cake. Here we go:

New Year Eve

Välkommen 2012. Hoppas detta blir ett supebra år. Vi firade med familj och vänner, god mat, champagne, trevligt folk & massor av skratt. En riktigt bra start på det nya året.

Welcome 2012!!! I hope this will be a really great year. We celebrated with family and friends, lots of good food, nice drinks & laughs. Couldn't have been better way to start the new year. 

Greek traditions

Varje land har sina egna traditioner. I Grekland hittade jag tre saker de gör annorlunda. De kastar en granatäpple utanför deras dörr för lycka. De äter en stor sockerkaka som kallas Vasilopita som innehåller ett mynt (!). Den som får biten med myntet får en present eller pengar och massor av lycka inför det nya året. Sen öppnar en dörr "för att låta det nya året i".

Each country have their own traditions. I found three things Greeks do for New Years. They throw a pomegrade apple outside their door for good luck. They eat a big cake called Vasilopita which contains a coin (!). Whoever gets the coin gets a gift or money and lots of good luck for the New Year. Finally, they open a door "to let the New Year in". I like all of these new traditions. And yes!! this year I got the lucky coin.. so let's see...
