Special cakes

Special Cakes moved and opened an even bigger store down by Goodys. Step into a dream! Cakes, sweets, candy, cookies, cupcakes... M was super excited to look around. They even have a play area with toys for kids and plenty of tables and chairs so sit and enjoy a cup cake. Well worth a visit. By The pool

The other day me and another mom packed our beach bags and took our little babies to the pool for some swimming. The main holidays are over and we had the pool almost to ourselves . The kids looved playing and splashing around. Plenty of toys and snack kept them busy. After some serious play in the sun they feel asleep and us mothers enjoyed a frappe and catching up . Going

Our with a super active 10 month year old is complicated. Yes they scream, want to walk/run around and in every single  direction, eat anything they see including the flip flops, flowers, car keys.., so you gotta be super alert but it is so nice To go out. Athens is blessed with sun shine and I really dont like staying in, i also find that people are very friendly when you have a baby. Many offer to help,and some even play a little. 

Al Dente Ristorante

A couple of months ago my favorite Indian restaurant in glyfada closed down. Very sad because now there is no place to get a spicy tandori chicken or a sweet korma stew . The space was empty but all of a sudden there was movement and a huge, lovely and very cosy Italian restaurant opened. Italian food can never be wrong. And since the ingredients are pretty much the same as in Greek food it taste just wonderful and you can imagine you are in Italy. Al dente is very tasty and super busy so make sure to book a table. Oh yes sometime else - you can bring your own wine. For just 5 euros you can enjoy your own wine. Haven't seen that anywhere else in Athens yet.

Swap

På dagens promenad med fina M - som fyller fem månader just idag- tiden går så fort när man har en liten bebis- såg vi affären Swap. Det är en vintage butik som säljer skor, väskor och kläder av alla kända italienska, franska märken. Mycket gucci, pucci och prada... allt second hand... Har inte sett det tidigare i Aten. Utomlands är det ju jättestort men inte här.

Today I saw a vintage shop in Glyfada. They sell all your famous bags, shoes, belts, clothes -slightly used- for a fraction of the retail price. You get Gucci, Pucci, Prada, LV and many many more. Abroad - second hand or vintage is quite popular - but I haven't seen much of it in Greece- yet. Maybe with the crisis we will see more...

Nap outdoors

Jag och lilla M ar ute och gar varje dag, sa lange regnet inte vraker ner. Perfekt att fa lite frisk luft, motion och M sover som en prinessa i vagnen utomhus. Laste denna intressanta artikel om hur vi i Sverige later barnen sova utomhus trots minus grader (!)

I take M out everyday, well as long as its not pouring down with rain. Its perfect to get some fresh air, work out, sunshine plus she sleeps like a princess outdoors. I read this interesting article that Swedes actually let their babies sleep in the winter outside and it does them go great!

Birthday girl

Jag fyllde ar for nagra dagar sedan. Det blev fin, mysig Italiensk middag med familjen. Massor av tarta, fina blommor och karlek.

I had my birthday a few days ago. Lovely Italian dinner with my family. And not only one but two yummy chocolate and fruit cakes! 

More storms

I fredags var det den varsta stormen i Aten sedan 1961. Det regnade, askade och haglade helt galet i flera timmar.

Last Friday had the worst storm in Athens since 1961! It rained, had lots of thunder, lighting and hail.

The streets were flooded and all came to stand still.

Viva la Tapas

I helgen var vi pa Jamon Pintxos Bars, ett mysigt tapas stalle i Glyfada. De hade masor av olika sma ratter, som chorizo, tortillas och jamon. Hur gott som helst! 

This weekend we went to Jamon Pitxos Bar, a nice cozy tapas place in Glyfada. They have a range of little plates including cold ones like mixed olives, cheese or warm canapes, chorizo, tortillas, sangrias and of course delicious jamon! Buen provecho!

Pretty clouds

Det har varit lite svalare i Aten. Men klart och friskt. Man ser till och med Aegina och nagra sno-kladda berg langt borta (tror det masta vara pa Peloponnesus ?) fran Glyfada. 

It has been a little chilly this weekend. But the wind cleared up the atmosphere and we can see all the way to Aegina and some snowy mountains far away... I think they must be on Peloponnesus, because I don't know any mountains close by.

Windy weekend

Igar blaste det galet mycket i Aten som skapade vackra, maffiga vagor. En hel del manniskor var ute och surfade. 

This weekend was super windy in Athens. The wind create huge waves and made the beach look wild. Lots of people were out surfing. Here photos from sunset at paralia Glyfada. 

Blue, blue, blue

Sadar nu var vi lite friskare. Idag var det toppen vader, sa jag motte upp nagra andra Glyfada mom och gick pa en lang power walk. Vi gick nere vid paralia Glyfada, langs trammen - det finns namligen riktiga trottoarer dar. 

So we are finally a bit better - and so is the weather. After todays yoga class, i met up with some other Glyfada mom and took a nice, long walk by the beach. Paralia Glyfada- and there are actually sidewalks ! making it easy to walk with strollers.

Vad hande med det milda vintervaderet?! Igar och idag har det askat, regnat och haglat... 

What happened with the mild winter? Yesterday & today we have had thunderstorms, rain, lightning and hail...

Out without M!

I lordags hade vi barnvakt och gick ut med nagra vanner utan lilla M. Det var supertrevligt och massor av nya stallen har oppnat i Glyfada. Vi at pa Soleto och sen blev det drink pa Holy Spirit. Fast efter ett tag var det mysigt att ga hem till min lilla darling M

We had a baby sitter this Saturday so we swopped formula for daiquiris and went out with some friends. Lots of new places opened in Glyfada. We ate at Soleto and had delicious cocktails at Holy Spirit. The bartenders are true mixologist and made amazing drinks. 

But...after a few hours it was even better to go home and hug our little sleeping baby... 

Souk

For nagon manad sedan oppanade Souk, ett libanesisk stalle i Glyfada. Det har riktigt god och vallagad mat. Mumsig hummus, tabbouleh salad och goda kycklingspett. 

Just what Glyfada was missing: A Lebanese restaurant ! A couple of months ago Souk opened its doors and serve super delicious Lebense cuisine. They are open 24 hrs per day. I liked their salad tabbouleh and yummy dips like hummus or baba ghanoush. They also have excellent chicken skewers and falafel made with ground chickpeas. Oooh i'm getting hungry just writing about it. Thank God they deliver home too...! شكرا

Balux

Jag tog med mig lilla M och fikade med en kompis pa harlig Balux. Det ligger mitt pa beachen, pa sommaren kan man sola och bada. Pa vintern ar det ett mysigt cafe. 

I took baby M to Balux and met up a friend for coffee. Balux is a super nice cafe right on the beach. In the summer, you can swim and tan here too. Don't forget to check in at Foursquare and get a discount.

Jag hann inte ta nagra bilder i tisdags nar det snoad. Men sa har sag det ut for nagra ar sedan. Vacker eller hur?!
