Välkommen 2012. Hoppas detta blir ett supebra år. Vi firade med familj och vänner, god mat, champagne, trevligt folk & massor av skratt. En riktigt bra start på det nya året.

Welcome 2012!!! I hope this will be a really great year. We celebrated with family and friends, lots of good food, nice drinks & laughs. Couldn't have been better way to start the new year. 

Greek traditions

Varje land har sina egna traditioner. I Grekland hittade jag tre saker de gör annorlunda. De kastar en granatäpple utanför deras dörr för lycka. De äter en stor sockerkaka som kallas Vasilopita som innehåller ett mynt (!). Den som får biten med myntet får en present eller pengar och massor av lycka inför det nya året. Sen öppnar en dörr "för att låta det nya året i".

Each country have their own traditions. I found three things Greeks do for New Years. They throw a pomegrade apple outside their door for good luck. They eat a big cake called Vasilopita which contains a coin (!). Whoever gets the coin gets a gift or money and lots of good luck for the New Year. Finally, they open a door "to let the New Year in". I like all of these new traditions. And yes!! this year I got the lucky coin.. so let's see...
